Anton Lind

Anton Lind's paintings are based on a process where he condenses a large amount of visual material into individual images. The source material is refined through a rule-based process into information-dense paintings. These works depict a fusion of time — a state where the past, present, and future coexist simultaneously.

The visual material he draws from is often sourced from art history. It involves forms that appeal to him or that he wants to further develop. The artist incorporates material from his own life — images or texts that hold personal significance or that he wishes to process in some way. He also paints from moving images in real time, translating motion into still forms, focusing on the opposites of movement and stillness, as well as the familiar and the unknown. Layers of time and fragments of information accumulate into images. Perhaps it reflects a restless desire to have everything at once, but it’s also a method for reaching something new.
