Patrik Karlström

Patrik Karlström's work investigates the politics of representation. When he summarizes an art-historical language with an economic one, a shift of importance is made which adds uncertainty to the viewers conception. The result is poetic metaphors like a waterfall, bridge, lonely tree or a long and winding road. The policy is of universal application - strength, origin and belief in the future. Consequently Karlström visualizes the fact that no form or image is innocent and neutral, not in art or in the society at large.
